I found this spot on here because they said they had a vegan Italian sausage pizza that sounded good. When I got there, the server said they didn't have it anymore and they had a vegan BBQ chicken pizza now. I ordered it and then he came back and said they didn't have any more of the vegan chicken pizza now. I was disappointed but then I asked if they could take the vegan burger and crumbled it on the pizza for me and they did! I was grateful for that, and it actually tasted pretty good. I wanted a Blue Moon beer but they didn't have it but the beer he recommended tasted pretty good. Overall it was a pretty cool experience

One of the few breweries (the others being Monday Night and Ferus) that also has their own food. The food is way better than it has any business being. I've enjoyed most of their food offerings and finally tried the burger. I see why a lot of people say this is the best burger in Birmingham. Personally I think it's great, especially for something so simple. It's heavy on one distinct flavor, so not a complex burger but it's also a bit heavy. For the brewery itself, it has a decent enough beer it functions more of a gathering spot, as it has ample seating and a large outdoor area. There are lots of kids around so if you're looking for a quiet adult oriented place this isn't it.

Back Forty is a fun place for friends to gather. I'm not much of a beer drinker but my man and his friends are. I like how this place has food and other alcoholic beverages if beer is not your preference. Each time I have been here the line has been out the door but the service is pretty quick. I've had their pepperoni pizza and conecuh sausage sandwich. I'm not a big fan of pimento cheese and Dijon mustard but I wanted to try the sandwich as it came. I would definitely go back. The pizza is amazing!

Our group of friends plus kids had a great time at Back Forty. It was packed full of families enjoying a beautiful Friday night outside. Lots of space to run around under the lights for the little ones and plenty of space and TVs for sports inside. As a non-drinker they had a few options of non-alcoholic beers and kombucha for me to enjoy. I enjoyed the Korean grilled chicken sandwich. The sauce was a nice sweet and spicy mix that went well with the large piece of chicken. The shoestring fries were also perfect. The brewery is next to the train tracks so it is a bit loud if you are sitting outside. Other than that it is a solid family friendly spot for hanging outside on a nice day enjoy drinks and food.

I decided to stop by on National cheeseburger day (9/18/24.) since I hadn't been here in a while. The service was friendly and helpful. The burger was cool but I remember it being tastier in the past. It was still pretty good though. The skinny fries were delicious!!! So crispy and hot!!! I washed it all down with a hop tosh IPA, which I really enjoyed! The vibe here is typical brewery feels. The outdoor seating area is spacious. I really like it!

The place is ok-and was a good pitstop on our roadtrip. We were hungry and ordered some beers and entrees which were pretty good. Beer was alright, food was a little greasy, but overall satisfying (good sauces on both the sandwich and the pizza-the latter was a bit burnt). You get to order both drinks and food on one line, then pick up your food on a separate line once ready. Pity that well behaved dogs are not allowed inside, yet they have a full doggy wall of fame (picture gallery) along their restrooms. Sitting outside can get a little noisy due to passing trains...and the overall neighborhood felt sketchy while driving here,so having a brewery here felt refreshing. Overall, our rating would be good though not great.

We met some friends here for a couple of beers and dinner after work on a Friday. The place was very busy. Most of the customers seem to understand the feng shui of how to order and select your table. It's pretty intuitive. You line up at the order counter, find a place to be seated, and wait for your food at the left end of the order counter. the order taker will draw your beverage when you order. There's indoor and outdoor seating and a trendy vibe throughout. The beers are good, there's a nice variety. The menu options are good and the food tastes as if it is cooked with love.

SO HOPPY TO BEER WITH YOU! Back Forty Beer Company is a great time all around. Not only do they have an amazing beer menu but they also have a food menu. The typical burgers, salads and pizza. Bar food. All of it compliments the beers they have on draft. Back Forty always has events happening at their venue so keep a look out for some their annual events. It's a fun way to get to know a certain business while also being supportive!

I ate lunch here a couple of weeks ago with some coworkers and it was my first visit. Of course, since most of them are from Birmingham, they were much more familiar with this place than I was. They highly recommended the Back40 Cheeseburger, which is what I had already determined I was getting. It quite possibly was one of the best cheeseburgers I've ever had. Easily top 5. It was fresh, juicy, not burnt... everything you want in a cheeseburger. And the fries... oh my gosh, not those awful crinkle cut fries that everyone loves. These were thin, crispy, and flavorful. I was beyond full, but it was so good, I just had to finish everything. Also, I've included a picture of my coworker's pizza, which I think is the Bianca Pizza, but not 100% sure. She said it was great! Also, another coworker got the Grain Bowl and it looked so good, I really want to go back and try it. New Year's Resolution: get back to Back40 ASAP.
